Resources to help you with using artificial intelligence in your teaching.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, such as ChatGPT, is readily available to the public and is already integrated into many tools our students use for their coursework. The development of AI technologies is challenging us to rethink our teaching philosophies and assessment methods while considering the ethical and personal implications for our teaching practices and students' learning outcomes. 

The decision on whether to allow the use of AI in a UofL course is at the discretion of each individual instructor. The new clearly states that 鈥淚nstructors or Supervisory Committees shall clearly set out expectations and may choose to permit, limit, or ban the use of tools such as AI in research, assignments, and assessments in a program or Course鈥. This could be at the course level, or it may differ for each assignment. We encourage you to put a statement in your course syllabus and talk to your students about if or how AI can be used in your course(s).

The Teaching Centre and Library continue to collaborate to provide updated resources to support teaching and learning in an AI world. Given these technologies' rapid adoption and constant changes, these resources will be updated regularly.
