Young Canada Works
Young Canada Works is a youth employment program funded through Canadian Heritage that creates short-term work opportunities in the heritage sector (museums, art galleries, libraries, archives etc.) for Canadian youth. Positions are posted to the YCW job board throughout the year: . Positions for 2025-2026 will start to be posted in Spring of 2025. Please follow the links below for more information.
The program in brief:
Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage:
- Work terms of 4-12 months
- For post-secondary graduates
Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations:
- Work terms of 6-16 weeks
- For current secondary and post-secondary students
*participants must be aged 30 or under and be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have refugee status to be eligible

2027 Calgary Stampede - Youth Poster Competition
The 2027 Calgary Stampede Poster Competition is now officially open for applications!
The competition invites artists aged 15–24 to compete for scholarships and the honor of designing the 2027 Calgary Stampede Poster. In addition to the competition itself, participants enjoy free educational experiences, including masterclasses and mentorship with professional artists.
Participation is free, and the application process is straightforward. Full details can be found here:

Mentorship Program - Spindle Films Foundation
Spindle Films Foundation is opening 6 months of free virtual masterclasses for emerging filmmakers. Spindle is a non-profit organization run entirely by queer and trans filmmakers for queer and trans filmmakers, and is a unique opportunity to receive high quality professional development from some of Canada's leading filmmakers.

Screen Music Program - Los Angeles Winter Edition
The Screen Music Program - Los Angeles Winter Edition is a three-day intensive designed to prepare emerging composers and producers for careers as composer's assistants.
Dates: January 7-9, 2026
Location: Film Independent HQ, Los Angeles
Capacity: 70 in-room spots (first-come, first-served)
Registration Deadline: December 24, 2025
This compact, assistant-focused edition offers students practical, job-ready skills through lectures, masterclasses, and Q&A sessions.

​Are you teaching private music lessons or interested in becoming a private studio teacher? Why not consider joining ARMTA, the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association?
We are a professional organization of private studio music teachers of all disciplines and instruments. Our aim is to promote excellence in teaching and provide support and learning opportunities for both students and teachers. Those who have completed a Bachelor of Music or an ARCT with a recognized examining board are welcome to become members. Teachers with a minimum level 9 certification may join as affiliate members. Benefits include professional development, regular student recitals, student awards, advertising, liability insurance and opportunities to share with and gather information from other teachers in a supportive environment. Teachers of all instruments or voice are invited to join!
