The Calgary Stampede Youth Poster Competition is a unique youth achievement opportunity that provides talented youth with the opportunity to showcase their talent on a world stage. Generously funded by the Brandon Flock Foundation, the Dustin Peers Memorial Scholarship is one of Canada’s largest art scholarships. Talented young artists between the ages of 15-24 from across Alberta are invited to submit their artwork each fall for the chance to design the artwork for the Calgary Stampede Poster and take home the first place prize of a $10,000 scholarship.

For 2026, we are offering $14,000 in scholarships to Canadian design students. Some are regional and others are specifically for Indigenous students (Cheryl Lynn Rutledge Northern Indigenous Student Award) while others are for historically marginalized students ((Manitoba Studio Fund). There are opportunities for students studying all disciplines taught in design programs across Canada.

Winning students receive the monetary award and a certificate, and in most of the awards we also recognize honourable mentions with a certificate. All students (winners and honourable mentions) are featured on the DesCan website and are promoted through our social media channels.

The deadline for most of these scholarships is May 1, 2026. Details can be found at .
