Art Studios - Student Assistants
The Art Studios, located in the Centre for the Arts, are dedicated to the creation of artworks in areas of photography, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, painting, digital fabrication, among other mediums. Art studio student assistants provide general shop and studio maintenance support. Tasks include, but are not limited to: studio and workshop upkeep, cleaning, maintenance, painting, material prep. ect.
Experience Required:
- Art studio facility experience and familiarity
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work quickly, have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work under tight project deadlines
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs
- Safety footwear
- Completion of Safety Checklist, including acknowledgment of SWP Manuals, Hazard Assessments, and WHMIS training
Rate of Pay: $16.00/hour

Applications for Fall 2025 are being accepted now.
Box Office Assistants are scheduled to sell tickets at the Box Office window, 12:30pm - 3:30pm Monday through Friday and for all evening and weekend shows. Box Office assistants often work as Front of House supervisors and will also take care of bar and concession during intermissions in the lobby.
- Good customer service experience
- Excellent availability weekday afternoons (must be available at least 2 afternoons a week from 12pm - 4pm inclusive) and good availability evenings and weekends of our events
- Knowledge and appreciation for performing arts
- Ability to learn quickly, have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work with urgency and accuracy in a fast-paced sales environment
- Pro-Serve Training required (certification provided if you don't have it, but you'll be required to complete it)
Rate of pay - General Clerk 1 AUPE

The Costume Shop, located in the Centre for the Arts is a busy workshop dedicated to costume construction for Fine Arts programs, including Department of Drama Mainstages, Department of Music Opera Workshop, and other programming. Costume shop student assistants provide support with cutting, sewing, assembly, and costume maintenance.
Experience Required:
- Costume shop experience an asset
- Excellent demonstrated skills in machine and hand sewing, cutting, and quick repair and alterations
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to learn quickly, have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work under tight project deadlines
- Completion of Safety Checklist, including acknowledgment of Standard Operating Procedures, Hazard Assessments, and WHMIS training
Rate of Pay: $16.00/hour

Scene Shop Student Assistants 鈥 Theatre Operations
The Scene Shop, located in the Centre for the Arts is an active facility dedicated to the construction of scenery and props for theatre productions, including the Department of Drama Mainstages and other programming. Scene shop assistants provide support with construction projects, paint applications, shop upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance.
Experience Required:
- Scene shop experience an asset
- Experience safely and comfortably operating scene shop power tools
- Ability to read and work with measuring tapes and tools with accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work quickly, have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work under tight project deadlines
- Ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs and work at heights
- Safety footwear
- Completion of Safety Checklist, including acknowledgment of Standard Operating Procedures, Hazard Assessments, and WHMIS training

Theatre technical student assistants provide assistance with stage setups, light hangs and focus, light construction work, and occasional sound setups.
Experience Required:
- Experience working in a theatre or as part of a performance or event crew is an asset
- Knowledge of standard safe working practices, equipment operation, and correct lifting techniques
- Demonstrated experience taking direction and working safely in teams
- Ability to work quickly, have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work under tight project deadlines
- Ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs and work at heights
- Safety footwear

Call for Drama Students 鈥 Haunted House Performance (Paid Opportunity)
The Fine Arts Representative and Students鈥 Union are hosting a Haunted House at the Zoo Ballrooms on October 30th and are looking for 8鈥10 Drama students (First come-First serve) to participate as actors and crew members!

- 馃晵 Time: 5鈥8 PM on October 30th
- 馃挵 Compensation: $50 + light snacks provided
- 馃幁 Roles: Acting (improv, character work, jump-scares), set/props, makeup, and front-of-house (guest greeting, line management, character interaction)

Town of Coalhurst Council Swearing-in Ceremony
Performers are needed for the Town of Coalhurst's Council Swearing-in Ceremony on Monday, October 27. There will be a public event at the Coalhurst Community Centre (527 50 Avenue) from 6-8 p.m. (program to start at 6:30 p.m.).
This event formally recognizes the incoming Council, where they officially swear their oaths. As part of the evening, local entertainment will be featured, through either a short choral or drama performance (approx. 5 minutes each), with a suggested theme around teamwork or working together (if possible). Organizers are also seeking someone who would be willing to sing O Canada. And are able to pay a small stipend for your time.
Any interested performers should contact the organizers as soon as possible, and by October 22 at the very latest. There will also be holding a rehearsal of the event during the day on October 23, should any group be able to participate. Please note, this rehearsal is not mandatory to attend.
