As Alberta's Destination Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬, the U of L gives you room to think, create and explore, providing a university experience unlike any other.

At the foundation of our graduate programs is a multidisciplinary and personalized experience. A collaborative environment is encouraged between faculty and students. This means you have flexibility in decisions regarding the research and learning path you take. The Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge provides our graduate students with a variety of opportunities to take their education and research beyond the classroom. Through experiential learning, our students are involved in projects and programs that promote community engagement, are multidisciplinary, and provide you with the opportunity to combine your in-depth knowledge with a breadth of practical experience.

Here are some of the opportunities our graduate students can take advantage of to develop their professional skills:

The SGS Professional Development for Graduate Students is an initiative by the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge to provide students with the professional development opportunities needed to succeed in their future careers.

Co-operative Education is available to students who are registered in the Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Master of Science (Management) programs. The program works to create a partnership between students, the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬, and the employer and offers students an opportunity to learn, cultivate new skills, reflect, and develop professional experience.

We offer the Graduate Assistant Teaching Development (GTA-PD) Program. Graduates with a Master's or Doctorate degree often go onto teach at post-secondary institutions or assume leadership roles in business, industry, government or not-for-profit organizations. All graduate students are strongly encouraged to participate in this program to develop significant skills for their future careers,

The GTA-PD program provides an opportunity for professional development in critical teaching skills, equipping graduate students to carry out their teaching duties effectively and prepare them to lead, teach and train others. Graduate students who have participated in these sessions receive formal recognition of participation in this academic professional development program via a “Certificate of Participation", a valuable addition to a graduate student’s curriculum vitae when applying for academic positions, doctoral programs, post-doctoral placements or careers outside of academia.

The GSA aims to support students in navigating and succeeding throughout graduate school by ensuring that graduate students are equipped to succeed in their current programs and have the networking resources to confidently take the next steps in their careers.

Our Centres and Institutes facilitate partnerships and help attract alternate sources of funding for research, teaching and preparing the next generation of scholars, scientists, artists, and practitioners. Our Centres and Institutes also serve as exemplars of the breadth of uLethbridge research expertise.

The Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Indigenous peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ community.
