Program description

The Master of Arts (MA) program offers students in a wide range of disciplines the opportunity to earn a master鈥檚 degree by writing a thesis and successfully completing a limited number of courses. 

The Department of Drama offers intensive studio-based training and creative research opportunities in theatre, performance and interdisciplinary artistic practice. Faculty expertise includes scripted and devised performance, theatre for young audiences, theatre education, design and technical production, dramaturgy and theatre history.

Program Facilities and Equipment

Students work in professionally equipped performance, production, and studio spaces within the 免费福利资源在线看片 Centre for the Arts. The Department of Drama produces mainstage productions, student-run studio productions and numerous other theatre events. The Department鈥檚 activities are supported by outstanding theatre facilities, shops and studios.

Funding Opportunities

    • Eligible students are offered ULGRA as part of their admission into their program, up to a maximum of $21,000 per year.
  • Graduate Assistantships (teaching/non-teaching)
    • Students are offered this funding opportunity with offers of admission, with assistantships valued at $3,916.51 for a full GA, and $1,958.25 for a half GA, as of 2026.
Program Requirements

For the MA program, students are required to complete coursework, a Thesis, and a Thesis Oral Defence. Three to six graduate term courses or equivalent (9.0 to 18.0 credit hours) are required for this program. Students develop their programs in consultation with their supervisors. Finding a supervisor

Applicants to the MA Dramatic Arts program do not need to secure a supervisor before submitting an application. Supervisors are not identified until after an application has been assessed by the Departmental Graduate Education Committee.
