Horns introduce All Sport Pass

If you want to get your share of Horns Athletics this fall, there's one way to get in on all of the action. The new All Sport Pass is a season ticket to every Horns game for every Horns varsity team.

In the past, Horns fans had to buy individual sport season tickets to catch the action of the various teams. Now, Pronghorns Athletics is introducing an All Sport Pass for the 2011-2012 season. For $100, Horns fans can now catch all the basketball, hockey, soccer and rugby action with just one pass.

The pass includes: admission to all regular season and playoff games in 2011-12 for every Pronghorns varsity sports team; 10 per cent off all Adidas branded Pronghorns merchandise; a Pronghorns magnetic schedule and keychain; as well as a 10 per cent discount at all Horns concessions.

Horns battle in Adidas ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ Challenge

The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge is engaged in a challenge that could net Pronghorns Athletics $25,000.

The Adidas ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ Challenge is underway, and the U of L is competing with 18 other universities in a bracket challenge that continues right through the Christmas break. To participate, supporters of the Horns follow the link, enter their e-mail address, and vote for the U of L. Everybody with a uleth e-mail account is eligible to participate and the university with the highest per capita votes each week (based on the most votes as a percentage of their student population) moves on to the next round. The first round of the contest began Monday and continues through Sunday, Nov. 28, 9:59 p.m. (MST). The top 16 vote getters from round one advance to the second round of the competition. Those voting for the three schools eliminated will receive a 10 per cent discount code for Adidas merchandise. As the contest progresses from week to week, the discounts increase, culminating with the winning school's voters getting a 50 per cent discount and the university's athletic program earning a $25,000 cash award.

When the contest's second round begins, the challenge is a head-to-head bracket competition, meaning the U of L will be matched against one other school each week as it attempts to advance to the third round, the semifinals and ultimately the final round.

Four clicks is all it takes, and Pronghorns Athletics is eligible to win a $25,000 cash prize from Adidas. All the while, voters receive graduating merchandise discounts at www.shopadidas.ca.

Horns men's basketball to host coaching clinic

��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Pronghorns men's basketball is hosting its Southern Alberta Coaching Clinic Saturday, Oct. 2 at the 1st Choice Savings Centre gymnasium.

The clinic sees the return of former Pronghorns head coach Dave Crook as one of the keynote presenters. He'll join current head coach Dave Adams, along with assistant coach Brad Karren. All three coaches have won national coaching honours.

Registration for the clinic is $90 per participant, which includes an Adidas Horns t-shirt (first 50 registered people) and a ticket to the Alumni game that night. Receipts will be issued to educators for PD reimbursement.

Following is the itinerary for the clinic.

8:30 a.m. – Registration
9 a.m. – Opening remarks. Session #1: Individual workouts for your players (Dave Adams)
10 a.m. – Session #2: Man-to-Man Defense (Dave Crook)
11a.m. – Session #3: Fastbreak into Man-to-Man Half-court Offenses (Brad Karren)
Noon – Lunch
1 p.m. – Session #4: Zone Attack (Dave Crook)
2 p.m. – Session #5: Zone Defenses in the Full-court and Half-court (Brad Karren)

Alumni Game

The Horns will hold their annual Alumni Game later that evening, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Crook will coach the Alumni squad (Bob White, Remington Stemler, Rob Cooper, Mike Myers, and Tim Rollingson Jr. have confirmed their participation) as it battles the 2010-11 edition of the Horns.

After the Alumni Game, a short Meet the Players event will be held in PE 264, followed by the first Friends of Horns Men's Basketball AGM.
