The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge is pleased to announce the appointment of alumna Karen Reid (BMgt ’86) as the new Chair of its Board of Governors. A seasoned financial executive and longtime community leader, Reid brings more than three decades of strategic business, governance and volunteer experience to the role.

Currently the Chief Financial Officer at Charlton & Hill Limited in Lethbridge, Reid served on the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s Board of Governors from 2018 to 2024, including in the capacity as Vice-Chair. Throughout her time on the board, she contributed to the Audit, Human Resources and Compensation, Finance, and Executive Committees, as well as the Presidential Search Committee.

“The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge is a vital part of our city, our region and our province, and I am honoured to help guide its future in this capacity,” says Reid. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members, President Jayas, and the entire ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ community to support students, faculty and staff as we advance the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s mission of teaching, research and community engagement.”

Reid has held senior leadership roles with Charlton & Hill since 2004, where she oversees finance, technology, human resources and strategic direction. In 2008, she was named a Fellow of the Certified Management Accountants, and in 2015, a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants.

Reid is deeply engaged in the Lethbridge community. Beyond her current and previous contributions to the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ, she has volunteered in leadership capacities with organizations such as the Lethbridge Squash Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lethbridge and District, where she has chaired the annual Golf for Kids Sake fundraiser for more than two decades.

With this appointment, Reid becomes the 12th appointed Board Chair and the first female Board Chair in the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s 58-year history.

The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Board of Governors is responsible for the overall management, control and operation of the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ. It ensures the institution’s financial sustainability and strategic direction while complying with the Post-Secondary Learning Act and other applicable legislation.

Donor generosity, Board of Governors match program leads to record support for students

��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge students are truly experiencing what it means to be part of the ULethbridge family, benefitting from record levels of scholarship support thanks to a forward-thinking Board of Governors matching program and an ever-growing donor community.

As endowed student awards increased nearly 10 per cent in the past year and almost 40 per cent since 2021, Kathy Greenwood, the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s Vice-President External Relations, says donor engagement has made all the difference.

“Our donors mean everything to our students — they understand the pressures they are under, the financial difficulties that have continued to build in recent years — and they want to help,” says Greenwood. “When the Board of Governors began its $10-million endowed scholarship matching program in January 2022, it really energized our donor community, giving them the opportunity to double the impact of their gifts — and they responded.”

Students have been writing thank you notes to donors in recent weeks, and they speak to how scholarship support has supported them financially, academically and personally.

“Being part of the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge has been a transformative experience, and this award has played a key role in that,” says one student note to a donor. “It has helped me move closer to my goals and reminded me that I am not alone in this journey. Your generosity has not only eased financial pressures but has also inspired me to keep striving and to one day give back in the same way.”

Another, studying therapeutic recreation, speaks to the demands of being a full-time student with practicum responsibilities.

“This award has helped ease the financial pressures of university life, pressures that, I’ll be honest, only seem to grow as I head into my fourth year. Your support came at the perfect time and truly lifted a weight off my shoulders. It’s allowed me to focus more fully on my studies, community placements, and the hands-on experiences that are so essential in this field. Your support has lightened my financial load, lifted my spirits, and strengthened my commitment to giving back to others, just as you’ve done for me.”

Greenwood says student scholarships are far more than gifts, rather they are investments in the future.

“These students are tomorrow’s community leaders and the relationships they are building now with the people who support their growth will only strengthen their understanding of empathy, creating connection and what truly makes a society thrive,” she says.

Remembering Dean Gallimore

Dean Gallimore (BMgt ’84) was the consummate professional. A respected member of the southern Alberta business community, he was a decorated chartered professional accountant leading one of the top accounting firms in the city. What he will be remembered for was how he leveraged his professional accomplishments to effect long-lasting change in his community, advocate for post-secondary education and create pathways to success for the next generation of students.

Dean Gallimore was appointed the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ's 11th Board of Governors Chair in 2022.

Gallimore, Chair Emeritus of the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Board of Governors, passed away on Sunday, April 6, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary at the age of 63. His passing is a profound loss to the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ, to those who worked alongside him and to the students he ensured had a voice in the governance of the institution.

“The loss of Dean has deeply impacted many people in our community and for me it is especially painful as he was one of the first people I got to know well as the Chair of the search committee when I was hired as president and vice-chancellor,” says Dr. Digvir Jayas. “His generosity, warmth and humility showed me from the beginning that this was a place and an atmosphere I wanted to be involved in, and in my time working with him since, his sincerity for supporting the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ and its people always shone through.”

Gallimore, an alumnus of the Faculty of Management (now Dhillon School of Business) was born in Edmonton and raised in Lethbridge, attending Winston Churchill High School before beginning a family legacy by attending the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge. Both he and his wife Bev (BA ’85, BMgt ’87) graduated from ULethbridge and their daughters, Lauren (BMgt ’15) and Amanda (BSc/BEd ’19), followed in their footsteps as alums.

Education was extremely important to Gallimore, and he was eager to give back to the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ through volunteer work and as a philanthropist, crediting his time as a student as the starting point of his professional success.

“Having my spouse, and two children also as alums, the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ has always been a big part of my life and helped launch my career here in southern Alberta,” Gallimore said on being appointed the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s 11th Board Chair in 2022. “Its connection to community as a partner and driver of commerce and innovation is something that is continually expanding and I’m excited to help steward in the coming years.”

He would make students a central focus during his time as Board Chair, advocating for student priorities and ensuring student representatives on the Board were heard. He welcomed student representation on the ULethbridge Budget Advisory Committee in 2021-22 as the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ engaged in critical financial planning discussions.

“The entire student community is deeply saddened by this loss,” says Maleeka Thomas, President of the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Students’ Union. “Dean Gallimore was a tireless champion for student causes at our university.”

Always a champion of student initiatives, here he is in the hot tub after taking a cold dip supporting the annual Chillin' for Charity fundraiser.

His time as Board Chair saw Gallimore involved in several major initiatives, including crucial work on the Budget Advisory Committee that tapped into Gallimore’s vast financial acumen as the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ continued to navigate its substantial budget challenges. ULethbridge’s major fundraising campaign for student scholarship support was initiated under his watch and the Board’s significant matching campaign, where the Board pledged $10 million in match funds for the establishment of new endowed student scholarships, was also created. The long sought Southern Alberta Medical Program (SAMP) was also realized, with the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s first medical students slated to begin their training on campus in June 2026. Most recently, Gallimore was excited to help launch the ULethbridge Strategic Plan.

In 2023, the family established the Gallimore Family Scholarship, an endowed scholarship in support of outstanding students pursuing undergraduate education in the management field. Upon his passing, a specific scholarship is being established in his memory. Due to his personal passion and involvement in the establishment of SAMP and the outstanding care he received from the medical team at Foothills Hospital, the endowed scholarship will support students pursuing medical training at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge. Contributions to the Dean Gallimore Memorial Scholarship, which will be matched by the Board’s matching program, can be made here.

“Working on these various initiatives with Dean leading the way, he always had a clear vision of our mandate and how we could better support students so that they would be able to excel in their studies,” says Toby Boulet (BEd ’89, MEd ’04), a fellow Board of Governors representative. “His authenticity and willingness to lead by example really set a tone for the work we were doing, and I’m grateful for the time we spent together. That he was also proud of being an organ donor and was always eager to support our family as we raised awareness around organ donations, suits his incredible character.”

As an organ and tissue donor, Gallimore saved three lives and improved the quality of life for countless others upon his passing.

Gallimore’s professional achievements were many and his financial acumen was a major asset to his various roles with the Board of Governors. He spent 28 years with local accounting firm KPMG, the final 12 years as the office managing partner before retiring in 2012. An Alberta bronze medalist who placed on the Canadian Honour Role for the 1986 Uniform Final Examinations (having placed in the top 20 of approximately 3,600 candidates), his portfolio at KPMG consisted largely of primary agriculture, agriculture services and agriculture processing clients, as well as many other industries.

Deeply respected by his peers, Gallimore received the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta Distinguished Service Award (2001) and was honoured as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta (2008). In 2009, he was named to the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s Alumni Honour Society.

“In working with Dean these past few years, we spoke a lot about relationships and specifically building bridges between the Board of Governors and the faculty,” says Dr. Craig Coburn, a Board member and professor in the Department of Geography & Environment. “He worked hard to create a space where we could talk about some very difficult issues in a respectful and constructive manner, and I think we made great strides in terms of understanding each other and moving forward.”

Gallimore was also deeply committed to strengthening his community, giving time to several organizations and chairing such committees as the Chartered Accountants of Alberta Education Foundation, the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Planned Giving Advisory Committee and Faculty of Management Advisory Committee. He first joined the ULethbridge Board of Governors in 2019 and, among his other duties, was Chair of the Finance Committee.

The culmination of the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ's Strategic Plan launch marked a major milestone in Gallimore's tenure as Board Chair.

“Dean was someone I admired for embodying all that ULethbridge alumni aspire to be,” says Cyndi Crane (BMus ’95, MEd ’01), president of the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Alumni Association. “He made the most of his ULethbridge education, excelling as a student and going on to be a respected, highly successful member of the business community. He also understood how he could contribute to his community beyond his professional role and embraced volunteering, philanthropy and seeking ways to make people’s lives better, all while raising a caring and engaged family with his wife Bev. He will be deeply missed.”

Terry Whitehead (BA ’94) joined his fellow alum in a leadership position in 2023 when he was appointed ULethbridge Chancellor. He says the passion with which Gallimore advocated for the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ was ever present.

“He truly believed in the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge, what it had provided for him and his family and how it was creating graduates who were making a real difference in the world,” says Whitehead. “He cared about people, he cared about his community, and I’ll miss our conversations, his warm smile and his generosity of spirit. He was a wonderful man whose impact was significant in every aspect of his life. Dean will be forever admired and deeply missed by all who knew him.”

New endowed scholarship honours alumna

Family members of the late Claire Goodman (BA ’03) are honouring their sister and daughter through the establishment of a new endowed scholarship in her name.

Goodman, aged 41, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in May 2022 in Chicago, where she lived and worked as a financial advisor. As a director at PFM Financial Advisors LLC, Goodman worked with leading borrowers in the Midwest. Her colleagues and those who knew her called her a smart and skilled professional who cared deeply about her clients and acted as a mentor to younger professionals.

“We are proud to be entrusted with honouring Ms. Goodman’s memory,” says Kathy Greenwood, vice-president external relations. “This scholarship will reward exceptional academic achievement for undergraduates studying economics or finance and ensure Claire Goodman’s legacy benefits students far into the future.”

Born in Lethbridge, Goodman graduated from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and studied economics at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge. Following the completion of her bachelor’s, she earned a master’s in economics at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Georgia. She worked in strategic planning for non-profit organizations while conducting research and teaching at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Georgia. She became a published author in game theory, risk management and market competition.

Goodman moved to Chicago to pursue a career in finance. She joined Scott Balice Strategies and later Public Financial Management. She established her career in public finance and, by all accounts, was a multi-talented individual who used her considerable analytical skills and ability to dive deep into complex areas of finance to best serve her clients. In return, they recognized her unique skills and sang her praises.

Away from work, Goodman loved to travel and would plan yearly trips to exotic locations. She collected cookbooks as she travelled and would often use them to cook for her loved ones and friends. Goodman was an animal lover as well and she doted on her pit bull rescue named Hot Sauce. She also had a particular penchant for ballet flats, daring to wear them even in winter.

In honour of Goodman, Women in Public Finance — a national organization devoted to advancing women’s leadership opportunities — renamed their Rising Star Award to the Claire Goodman Rising Star Award.

The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Board of Governors will match the donation to establish the Claire Goodman Scholarship as part of its $10-million pledge in matching funds to establish new endowed scholarships. In addition to significantly increasing the sustainability of its student awards program, the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ aims to build a base of support to remove barriers, increase accessibility and unlock opportunities for future generations of students.

Acknowledging that increased financial support is critical in ensuring a university education remains an option for more students, the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Board of Governors is pledging $10 million in match funds for the establishment of new endowed student scholarships.

The endowed funds will significantly increase the sustainability of the ULethbridge awards program.

The funds, which will be used to attract and inspire philanthropic support from the community in support of student awards and scholarships, will significantly increase the sustainability of the ULethbridge awards program and lay the foundation for future generations of students.

“Our students are at the centre of everything we do here, and student support and the student experience has long been a hallmark of ULethbridge,” says Board of Governors Chair Dean Gallimore. “What is available to our students is an enriching experience across a breadth of programs and majors, and one that prepares them as critical thinkers and global citizens. We see this endowment of funds as a means to remove barriers and allow more students the opportunity to pursue their passions and realize success.”

By offering $10 million in match contributions, the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ is aiming to build a significant base of support that will unlock opportunities for future generations of students. It will allow ULethbridge to further attract, retain and reward diverse and promising students now and for generations to come.

“I applaud the board for this substantial commitment, which will have both an immediate and everlasting impact on the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s mission to educate students as adaptive learners and strong-minded community leaders,” says Dr. Mike Mahon ULethbridge president and vice-chancellor. “This pledge is a vote of confidence in what we do, who we are as a university and the future that is before us.”

Scholarships and awards play a key role in student success. For some, scholarships are the incentive and reward for hard work and dedication, community service or athletic excellence. For others, scholarships relieve the financial burden post-secondary education can place on themselves and their families, and in some cases, scholarship funds create access and make the dream of attending university possible.

“I have had the opportunity to speak to many of our students who have received scholarships over the years and the difference it makes in their lives is substantial,” says Mahon. “So many speak of how scholarship support allows them to focus on their studies, pursue their passions and really embrace the full university experience.”

Dean Gallimore has served as a member of the ULethbridge Board of Governors since October 2019, most recently as Chair of the Finance Committee and Vice-Chair of the President & Vice-Chancellor Search Committee.

��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge adopts Iniskim Governance Process

Developed under the guidance of Dr. Leroy Little Bear (BASc (BA) ’72, DASc ’04) and the Elders in Residence, the Iniskim Governance Process outlines how ULethbridge will meet the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) Calls to Action. The process was approved by the ULethbridge Board of Governors on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Indigenization is a priority at ULethbridge and the governance process aligns with the strategy to support Indigenous students, staff, faculty and community members at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ.

Indigenization, in the context of ULethbridge, refers to the inclusion of Indigenous worldviews and perspectives in ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ programming, supports and activities through consultation and engagement with Indigenous peoples and communities. It means the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ respects and includes all Indigenous — First Nation, Métis and Inuit — cultures, traditions and ways of knowing, while recognizing ULethbridge is located in Blackfoot Territory.

The Iniskim Governance Process focuses on students and supporting them throughout their academic journey, as well as helping create employment opportunities for them. This will be achieved through guidance from the Awahksaataaksi Council, made up of Niitsitapi educational Elders and Knowledge Keepers, regarding values and ways of knowing to achieve balance. Advisory circles will lead initiatives in the various ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ units with the guidance of the Council. The TRC Calls to Action will also guide advisory circles in their actions in the pursuit of initiatives to better focus on youth education and employment opportunities.

The advisory circles for the faculties and departments will consult with the Council or an Elder to ensure proposed actions are culturally sensitive. Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing will become infused across ULethbridge as the campus works toward Indigenization. All academic and administrative units will align with this strategic priority.

U of L solidifies Board of Governors with new member and reappointments

The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge is pleased to welcome a new member to its Board of Governors and the reappointment of two others who have made significant contributions to the U of L community.

Calgary-based businessman Darcy Gonci (BSC ’96, BMgt ’99) has been appointed to the Board of Directors for a three-year term through October 2023. Terry Whitehead (BA ’94) and Karen Gunn will both serve second terms as board members, also through October 2023.

“We’re extremely fortunate to add Darcy to our group and excited about the perspective he brings from his professional experiences and willingness to serve in the community,” says Board of Governors Chair Kurt Schlachter (BSc ’00). “It’s also great to welcome both Karen and Terry back for second terms. Their U of L pride is infectious and their contributions to our community and southern Alberta as a whole have been tremendous.”

Darcy Gonci

A chartered professional accountant originally from Calgary, Gonci graduated from the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Science (co-op in biochemistry) in 1996, and a Bachelor of Management (finance) in 1999. He earned a Master of Professional Accounting from the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Saskatchewan in 2003 and obtained his chartered accountant designation in 2004.

Gonci has held various finance leadership positions in the energy sector in Calgary and is presently financial controller for a reservoir engineering and evaluation firm.

Karen Gunn

With over 20 years of combined experience as an insurance professional and a Canadian Risk Manager, Gunn began her career in Ontario with a family-owned commercial insurance brokerage. Relocating to Calgary, she joined the largest international commercial insurance brokerage in the country and earned her Canadian Risk Manager designation at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Calgary.

In 2003, Gunn was approached to join Rogers Insurance Ltd., and, in 2006 was invited in as a shareholder and partner. While maintaining an office in Lethbridge, Karen also spends time at her Calgary office to meet with her Calgary clients and staff.

Terry Whitehead

Living in Vancouver where he is managing partner of Alexander Whitehead Executive Search, a boutique search firm specializing in the natural resources, Whitehead is also the founder of Elev8Exec Coaching, a Vancouver-based executive coaching firm.

Whitehead is Chair of the Advancement Committee and serves on the Executive and Compensation committees of the board. He is also a member of the Vancouver Writers Fest Board of Directors and Chair of the Vancouver International Film Festival Advisory Committee.

��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge approves revised sexual violence policy

The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Board of Governors recently approved an updated Sexual Violence Policy that reinforces its intolerance of sexual violence and promotes a safe and supportive community for all who work, live and study at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ.

The revised Sexual Violence Policy is the result of extensive review and community consultations. It sets out consistent procedures for complaints and investigations and, among other important changes, more explicitly emphasizes the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ’s role in providing robust support for those who have experienced sexual violence. The policy reflects the diversity that exists in society and at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ, and puts no time limits on when complaints can be made.

“The Sexual Violence Policy is an extensive document that has been developed carefully and thoroughly, with a great deal of thoughtful input from the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ community,” says Ariane Tennant, associate vice-president (Human Resources). “The policy establishes the U of L as a place where sexual violence is prohibited conduct and we are dedicated to ensuring the security of everyone in the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ community.”

“Sexual violence is a critical problem in society and will not be tolerated at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge,” says Kathleen Massey, associate vice-president (Students). “We are committed to continuing our work to create a culture of consent and, working with our community, doing our part to put an end to sexual violence.”

The policy establishes clear processes and the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ will continue to inform and educate the campus community about consent, how to access support and guidance about the options available, and how to contribute to creating a safe and welcoming community, free of sexual violence.

Workshops and training for staff and students about the new policy and procedures will be offered throughout the academic year. More information on the policy, resources and support is available on the Sexual Violence Support & Education website.

Universities and colleges across Canada grapple with how best to educate their communities about consent and provide services related to sexual violence. The need for education about consent is ongoing and the U of L will regularly review its policy to ensure it meets the needs of the campus community.

Board of Governors reappoints one, welcomes three new members

The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge is pleased to announce the approval of four members to its Board of Governors, including three new public members and one reappointment.

“We’re very excited to reappoint Jennifer Harker to the Board and to welcome three new members,” says Board of Governors Chair Kurt Schlachter BSc ’00. “Our new members are accomplished professionals and longtime supporters of education in their communities. The perspectives they bring to the Board will prove to be very beneficial to our group and serve the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ and its stakeholders extremely well. I look forward to working with them as we continue to advance the U of L as one of Canada’s premier universities of choice.”

Jennifer Harker (reappointed) – Senior Manager, Human Resources, Pembina Pipeline Corporation
Jennifer Harker (BA ’99) is a native of Lethbridge and long-time resident of Calgary. In addition to her B.A., Jennifer earned a Master of Arts degree in history from the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Toronto and a Bachelor of Law degree from the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Calgary. She clerked for the Federal Court of Canada in Ottawa, and has been employed in the Calgary legal field for a number of years.

She currently serves as senior manager, Human Resources at Pembina Pipeline Corporation, a Calgary-based pipeline transportation and midstream service provider.

Jennifer is currently a public member of the Board of Governors of the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge and Chair of the Governance Committee. She is also a board member of The Elder Statesman Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe, comfortable and affordable housing for senior citizens in Calgary.

Karen Gunn – Senior Account Executive, Partner – Commercial Lines, Rogers Insurance Ltd.
Karen Gunn has over 20 years of combined experience as an insurance professional and a Canadian Risk Manager. She started her career at her family-owned commercial insurance brokerage in Ontario. She moved to Calgary to work at the largest international commercial insurance brokerage and earned her Canadian Risk Manager designation at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Calgary. Karen joined Rogers Insurance Ltd., the largest independent, privately-owned commercial insurance brokerage in Western Canada, in 2003 and became a partner and shareholder in 2006. She has managed the Lethbridge satellite office since 2005 and also spends time at her Calgary office where her staff resides.

Karen has served on the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Senate since 2011 and is a member of the Global Risk Management Institute, the Southern Alberta Risk and Insurance Management Society (S.A.R.I.M.S.) and the Insurance Institute of Southern Alberta.

Georgina Knitel – Senior Manager and Team Lead, Agriculture Banking Specialist CIBC
Georgina Knitel is a professional agrologist and chartered mediator working as a senior manager and team lead, Agriculture Banking Specialist for CIBC. She holds a BSc in Agricultural Economics (��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Alberta) and an MBA in Agriculture (��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Guelph. Her background includes a thesis in Riparian Management, contribution as an advisor to the South Saskatchewan Land-Use Framework, day-to-day work with financing strategies for the farming and agri-business community, and conflict resolution.

Georgina has worked in diverse settings including Alberta, Yukon Territory, Saskatchewan, United States, China and the Netherlands, and brings a unique perspective and passion to the building of communities and prosperity within healthy environments.

Terry Whitehead – Managing Partner of Alexander Whitehead Executive Search from Vancouver
Terry Whitehead (BA ’94) was raised in Lethbridge and attended both Lethbridge Community College and the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge, where he was the sports editor of the student newspaper and then served on Students’ Union as Vice-President Academic and then as Students’ Union President. Upon graduation, he began his career as an arts administrator and was New West Theatre’s first company administrator. In 1998, he joined Theatre Calgary and concluded his tenure there in 2004 as the company’s Director of Advancement. He served as a member of the Calgary International Film Festival’s Board of Directors before moving to Vancouver to become the Director of Development for the Arts Club Theatre Company, Canada’s largest urban professional theatre company.

In 2008, he entered the professional search industry, eventually establishing Alexander Whitehead Executive Search, a boutique search and consulting firm operating in Vancouver and Calgary. He is currently a member of the Vancouver International Film Festival’s Board of Directors and continues to be an active donor and supporter of student initiatives in the arts at the ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge.
