UNews - Dr. Craig Cooper /unews/person/dr-craig-cooper en Golden Jubilee Awards will provide $50,000 in scholarships to help celebrate the U of L鈥檚 50th anniversary /unews/article/golden-jubilee-awards-will-provide-50000-scholarships-help-celebrate-u-l%E2%80%99s-50th-anniversary <div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item even" property="rnews:articlebody schema:articleBody"> <p>The Faculty of Arts &amp; Science at the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge has established five Golden Jubilee Awards worth $10,000 each to mark the institution&rsquo;s 50th anniversary in 2017.</p><p>&ldquo;We are one of the founding Faculties of the 免费福利资源在线看片 and we thought this would be a good opportunity to have a positive impact on students,&rdquo; says Dr. Craig Cooper, dean of the Faculty. &ldquo;One way we can do that is by offering awards of significant value.&rdquo;</p><p>The Arts &amp; Science UL50 Golden Jubilee Awards will be given to qualifying students enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts &amp; Science program. The recipients will be chosen based on their high school performance, financial need and the uniqueness of their personal circumstances. At least one award will be given to a student who self-identifies as a First Nations, M茅tis or Inuit student.</p><p>Students will be required to submit a letter that addresses their academic performance, financial needs and individual situation, along with their application and high school transcript. A letter of reference must also be attached to the application. The award will be paid out at $2,500 per year over four years, as long as eligibility is maintained.</p><p>The criteria include a high school admissions average of 80 per cent or higher. Students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or landed immigrants and must be full-time students throughout their four-year program. In addition, students will need to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. Once they have a student number, they can apply for the <a href="http://ulethbridge.ca/node/12470" rel="nofollow">Golden Jubilee Award</a> online.
