A stirring upset and the continuation of a program-best winning streak resulted in Kenzie Sheen and Scott Bowles earning the respective female and male Pronghorn Athletes of the Week awards.

Sheen, a third-year post out of Cardston, Alta., led the Pronghorns (2-12) women's basketball team to a split against the country's third-rated ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Alberta Pandas (10-4) this past weekend.

Saturday night, Sheen and the Pronghorns recorded a huge upset victory, knocking off the Pandas 65-60 in overtime, just the team's second Canada West regular season victory of the season.

Sheen recorded her second double-double of the campaign, knocking down a career-high 17 points and hauling in 10 rebounds.

On the season, Sheen is averaging 6.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, sophomore goaltender Scott Bowles continued his stellar play for the men's hockey team this past weekend, stopping 74 of 75 shots as the Horns recorded their fourth consecutive weekend sweep. With the two wins, the Horns pushed their winning streak to a program-record eight games.

Friday night, Bowles earned his second consecutive shutout (he closed out the first half with a shutout of Calgary), turning away 38 shots in the Horns' 3-0 victory over the Regina Cougars. He has now set team records both for shutouts in a season (two) and a career (three).

On Saturday night, Bowles was two minutes, 41 seconds away from posting a third consecutive shutout, before settling for a 4-1 Pronghorns victory over the Cougars. He finished the game with 36 saves as the Horns improved to 12-6-0 on the season.

Bowles also picked up Canada West athlete and hockey player of the week honours for his efforts. Through 18 conference games, the Penticton, B.C. product has a 2.83 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
