��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge President, Dr. William Cade, is inviting you to join him in a trip to the brewery.

Cade will be the guest lecturer as the Winter portion of the 2008-09 Big Rock ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ Lecture Series kicks off on Feb. 4 in Calgary. Presenting 'Sex on Six Legs', Cade, an accomplished professor, zoologist and entomologist, will discuss a topic close to his heart: insects, the most successful form of life that has ever existed on Earth.

With somewhere between 20 and 30 million insect species in existence, there is no denying their amazing ability to adapt and thrive. And with so many varieties, it is not surprising that insects have some of the most complicated and wonderful patterns of sexual behaviour involving brilliant visual signals, odors that can travel for kilometres and sounds and songs that fill the air. They fight, they court, they mate and their gametes even compete after mating occurs.

Cade will present examples of insect mating from a variety of groups and then focus on the mating of crickets, which often involves danger and death.
