Student art show and sale in Atrium

The ��Ѹ��Դ��߿�Ƭ of Lethbridge Atrium is filled with examples of work from U of L students this week as the B-R-A-C-E-S art show runs, Monday through Wednesday.

This art show and sale is organized by the U of L Arts Society and features a variety of media including painting, drawing, prints, sculpture and video, as well as a performance work by Christopher Stapleton.

The show runs Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours for Tuesday's showing have been extended in the evening, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Department of Art offers degrees in Art Studio and Art History & Museum Studies taught by practicing artists and scholars. Within a liberal education context, the programs provide the opportunity for intensive instruction in both areas and for students to engage in critical, theoretical and historical discourses related to contemporary art practice.

Art Studio courses combine traditional and emerging media, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, computer-based art, audio art, photography, video, printmaking, installation and performance art.

The U of L offers spacious and well-equipped studio facilities that permit students to undertake ambitious material projects in an environment of expert technical support, creative guidance and critical dialogue. Foundation courses provide introduction to a diversity of materials and ideas that are expanded upon in upper level courses. Senior Studio students are allocated individual studio spaces facilitating independent art production at an advanced level.
