SSHRC funding opportunities

There are several upcoming funding opportunities available through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Beginning with the Metropolis Project, the Standard Research Grant and the Sport Participation Research Initiative, all of which carry October application deadlines, the opportunities to acquire SSHRC funding are many.

Metropolis Project

Deadline: Oct. 4, 2010

-to select and finance a major national-level policy research project in the field of immigration and diversity

Standard Research Grant

Deadline: Oct. 15, 2010

-to support research and develop excellence in Social Science & Humanities research activities

Sport Participation Research Initiative

Deadline: Oct. 15, 2010

-to promote research that will develop better understanding of participation in sport and to build capacity to conduct research in this area

Aid to Research Workshops and Conferences in Canada

Deadline: Nov. 1, 2010

-to advance research and scholarship, promote research linkages and enhance the profile of Social Science and Humanities Research

Research/Creation in Fine Arts

Deadline: Nov. 5, 2010

-to support artist-researchers in a broad range of disciplines

Partnership Development Grants

Deadline: Nov. 25, 2010

-to develop research activities by fostering new partnership activities and design and test new partnership approaches

Partnership Grants

Deadline: Jan. 31, 2011 (LOI)

-to advance research and/or knowledge mobilization through mutual cooperation and sharing of intellectual leadership (bilateral or multilateral formal collaborations)
