In the last two years alone, O'Dea advocated on behalf of the society in garnering an office space adjoining a furnished lounge area where students can gather. She also ensured equipment and furnishings that were appropriate, plentiful and functional, all of this while overseeing the move of the into the newly renovated Turcotte Hall building.
O'Dea is consistently willing to participate in events by giving a speech or pep talk, and takes an avid interest in each student within the .
"I was absolutely thrilled and delighted to receive this recognition from the ," says O'Dea. "A teacher's ultimate concern is teaching the students to learn, and sometimes when a teacher is in the administration side of things one can lose sight of the teacher's ultimate goal."
