Senior defender Michael O'Brien grabbed his second consecutive Subway Athlete of the Week award after another solid weekend. O'Brien displayed great leadership skills and was a defensive stalwart for the Horns as they dropped a pair of starts on the west coast.
Despite losing both games, O'Brien was the Horns' best player and registered the club's only goal of the weekend, Saturday night in a 3-1 loss to Trinity Western.
The major also registered one shot on goal in a 1-0 loss Friday night in Vancouver versus the UBC Thunderbirds.
Sherry Latrace, a second-year student out of Brooks, Alta., picked up the women's nod after a hard-working effort in a pair of weekend losses.
Latrace worked tirelessly over the weekend in back-to-back 3-0 losses to Fraser Valley and Victoria respectively. Creating a number of good scoring chances, she was pegged as the club's hardest working player.
