Former Chancellor Emeritus Keith Robin was named Lethbridge's Citizen of the Year Monday, an honour fittingly bestowed on a man who helped shape post-secondary education in southern Alberta.
The annual award, presented by the and the , celebrates the city's most influential people. Robin certainly fits the bill.
In 1967, Robin became the director of continuing education for , just as the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge was being established on the west side of the city. He would later serve as the U of L's sixth Chancellor Emeritus from 1987 through 1991.
A continuing supporter of the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬, Robin is often seen at U of L events and continues close ties with the institution.
