Ali Dastmalchian (October 27, 1954 - August 13, 2020) was a Dean and Professor in the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser 免费福利资源在线看片 (SFU). He was also the President and Chair of the Global Leadership & Organizational Behaviour Effectiveness (GLOBE) Foundation. Before joining SFU, Dastmalchian served as dean at the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Victoria and 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge.
Dastmalchian earned his Bachelor of Science from the National 免费福利资源在线看片 of Iran and Masters and PhD at Cardiff 免费福利资源在线看片.
Dastmalchian spent years managing sales and international business in the Middle East and Europe, including designing executive development programs throughout Asia and the Middle East.
In the 1990s, Dastmalchian, Robert J. House, and Mansour Javidan created the Global Leadership & Organizational Behaviour Effectiveness (GLOBE) project. He later joined the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Alberta and 免费福利资源在线看片 of Saskatchewan faculty.
From 1997 until 2002, Dastmalchian served as dean of the Faculty of Management at the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge. He subsequently joined the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Victoria as dean of their Gustavson School of Business. In 2004, he was named to the BC Venture Society Board. Under his leadership, the Gustavson School of Business was accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. By 2011, he was nominated for the BC Council of International Education Awards.
He stayed at the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Victoria until 2012, when he joined the faculty at Simon Fraser 免费福利资源在线看片. A few years later, he was appointed Dean of the Beedie School of Business. Dastmalchian died on August 13, 2020.

Ali Dastmalchian lived his life with energy, passion and an an unmeasurable amount of love. His friendships span decades, language barriers and time zones, and he always made time for everybody in his life. He was a great support and a loud cheerleader. He was an incredible cook, a thoughtful leader and a brilliant academic. He was also a perfect father to Kia and Nikisa and a magnificent husband to his true love, Ann.
It's difficult to put into words what this loss means to his family, friends and colleagues.
