The Canada Research Chair (CRC) Program provides universities with the opportunity to recruit world-class researchers across all research disciplines. There are two types of CRC positions: A Tier 2 candidate should show potential to grow into a leader in their research field, a Tier 1 candidate should be an internationally recognized leader in thier field and in the university as a whole. CFI JELF
CRC nominees may be provided with an allocation to apply for a Canada Foundation for Innovation John R. Evans Leaders Fund (partnered application) (CFI JELF). The JELF provides funding for research equipment. The application is submitted to CFI at the same time as the CRC nonimination is submitted to the CRC Program.
