The Galt Museum & Archives
The Galt Museum & Archives is the COHT's main community partner. Galt Archivist Andrew Chernevych is a continuing member of COHT's founding executive. The Galt and COHT have partnered in lectures and workshops, including the inaugural two-day Community Oral History Workshop of November 2014. Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden
The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and the COHT work together to co-sponsor events such as the annual Golden Maple Reception and Keynote talk. The Garden is also a partner with the Nikkei Memory Capture Project, a community-based oral history project exploring the cultural and social history of Canadian Nikkei (people of Japanese descent) from 1950 to the present. Led by Dr. Carly Adams and Dr. Darren Aoki this project is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Arts and Humanities Research Council UK. The collaborative exhibits from the project can be found at the Bunka Centre at the Garden and on the project website at .
The Coyote Flats Pioneer Village
The Coyote Flats Pioneer Village has been the COHT's most recent partnership, assisting with the start up in their Oral History Project. Coyote Flats is a fullscale historical that was developed over 40 years by volunteers of the Prairie Tractor and Engine Museum Society of Picture Butte and area. Fearing the loss of knowledge and memories related to the buildings and artifacts at Coyote Flats, the organization secured a grant from the federal New Horizons for Seniors Program to partner with Picture Butte High School (PBHS) for an oral history project. The Nicholas de Grandmaison
The Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge Library in partnership with the Centre for Oral History and Tradition and the proudly announce the launch of the .
The resources found in this collection come from the expansive Nicholas de Grandmaison (1892–1978) archival collection that the artist’s children gifted to the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge in 1988. This oral history project contains interviews between de Grandmaison and the subjects of his indigenous peoples portraits, as well as interviews with de Grandmaison himself and his family.
digitized collection is also available—the bulk of the collection consists of de Grandmaison’s paintings and drawings of First Nations peoples.
