Dr. Richard Larouche, an Associate Professor of Public Health at the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge, and his team are recruiting parents (or guardians) and one of their children for a study. They would like to know how well a new app-based questionnaire measures physical activity among children and youth. This questionnaire will be available on an app and it may help us assess physical activity in children and youth around the world.
If you agree to join this study, you and your child will be asked to complete the questionnaire on one of our tablets. You and your child should complete the questionnaire twice so we can see how much physical activity varies from one week to the next. Your child will also be asked to wear an activity monitor on a belt around their waist for 9 consecutive days.
The only criteria for participating in the study is having a child between the ages of 8 and 17 who is willing to participate. Participation in this study would involve 2 in-person meetings (about 20 minutes each) for you and your child. We will provide a $10 SportChek gift certificate to both parents and children ($20 in total).
If you wish to participate in this study, you will need to sign a consent form, and your child will need to sign an assent form. Participation is voluntary and your choice to participate or not won鈥檛 have any impact on you or your child in any way.
