3-Minute Thesis (3MT) - Preliminary Round Entry Deadline

Sunday, Feb. 22 at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline for the first round of the 2026 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition.听If you have not reviewed the checklist to enter on the听, here it is:

  1. Review all dates and deadlines. Please make sure you submit on time as competition timelines are strict and no late entries accepted.

    1. Note: The form and uploading of video can take up to five minutes, do not leave your upload until the last minute.听

  2. Construct your 3MT preliminary entry.

  3. Attend workshops and practice sessions and iterate, iterate, iterate.

  4. Film your video for the preliminary entry.

  5. Review and ensure you are not over the three-minute time limit for speaking.

  6. Complete the 2026 Preliminary Entry Form -听听

    1. Submit a video recording of you speaking听(no slide)

      1. Filmed on the horizontal

      2. Filmed on a plain background

      3. Filmed from a static position

      4. Filmed from one camera angle

      5. MP4 video format is preferred.

    2. Submit your 3MT slide听

      1. Send only one static slide using 16:9 .pptx format then convert that to a .jpeg.

      2. Do not include a title slide

      3. Our team puts the two files together (the recording and the slide) once submitted to ensure a standardized format for every entry.

    3. Once the submit button is illuminated (the video can take up to five minutes to upload), hit submit before Sunday, Feb. 22, at 11:59 p.m.

  7. Congratulations, and watch your inbox for the results on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.
