Dr. Darcy Best (BSc '11, MSc '14), ULethbridge alumnus and Google software engineer, will give a talk titled听From Proofs to Pull Requests. He will share his journey from student to software engineer.

Date: Friday, Oct. 10
Location: PE250
Time: 3 to 4 p.m.

The leap from university to industry as a software engineer often feels like a mystery until you're actually there. Which skills from computer science (and math) courses actually carry over to the real world? In this talk, I'll share my own journey from student to software engineer, highlighting what translated well, what didn't, and what I wish I had known sooner. I'll offer some practical tips on how you can start preparing now to make your interview process much smoother and how to thrive once you've landed the job.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
