The film follows the story of a woman in search of the remains of her grandfather, killed during the Spanish civil war, and of her friendship with a teenage single mother she befriended while giving birth in the same hospital on the same day.
Winner of the 2022 Venice International Film Festival award for Best Actress.
鈥淚 was both fairly sure what Parallel Mothers might be, and was eager to be surprised. Thankfully, Almod贸var delivers on both fronts鈥揳s Almod贸var should almost always be entrusted to do鈥�
