Pianist Bente Hansen is joined by her colleagues and friends violinist Peter Visentin, cellist Mark Rodgers, and percussionist Adam Mason for a programme of widely varied repertoire that is sure to please! Come hear them play!

Mark Rodgers (cello) was born in Winnipeg into a musical family, where he first studied piano with his mother.听 He changed instruments to the cello early on and studied with James Hunter in Victoria, BC, and later at Brandon 免费福利资源在线看片 with Malcolm Tait while completing a Bachelor of Music.听 A Master's degree from the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Western Ontario followed, where he studied with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi.听 At this time Mark occasionally performed with the Winnipeg Symphony and Winnipeg Ballet Orchestra, CBC Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon and London (Ontario) orchestras. After graduate studies he joined Symphony Nova Scotia whom he performed with from 1985 to 1989.听 He then studied and taught cello in Victoria BC for a number of years before taking the position of principal cellist of the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra in 1994.听

Adam Mason has received international recognition as a clinician and performer in World Music, Marching Percussion and Percussion Ensemble. He has toured worldwide throughout China, Japan, United Kingdom, the USA and Canada, as well as Brazil, Ghana, Hong Kong, Trinidad & Tobago, and Taiwan. He serves as Director of Percussion at the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada and Principal Percussionist for the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra.听

Peter Visentin is a Professor Emeritus of the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge. As a performer of both modern and baroque violin, he has given recitals and performed with ensembles in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Since 2001, he has been a leading researcher in exploring the biomechanics of music performance and its relationship to the development of musicians鈥 injuries. In collaboration with multiple internationally-acclaimed research partners, he has published influential peer-reviewed articles in the disciplines of performing arts medicine, psychology, kinesiology, biomechanics, music education and research methods. This work helps improve understanding of the development of musicians鈥 performance-related musculoskeletal injuries and points the way toward prevention practices that can improve performance outcomes.

Bente Hansen graduated from the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge in 1986 and went on to receive a Masters of Music in Piano Performance at Michigan State 免费福利资源在线看片 in 1988. She has worked at the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge since 1997 teaching first year music theory and a plethora of other courses over her 28 year tenure with the Department of Music. Bente has also been quite active with the Drama department as musical director of a number of shows, the last of which was conducting one of her bucket list shows 鈥淛esus Christ Superstar鈥. She is active as a collaborator, working with a number of undergraduate students. She is also active in the community, offering her talents to senior residences, as well as playing at the hospital on a weekly basis with her good friend Monica.
