The Faculty of Education鈥檚 Leading Social Change in Schools Cohort is thrilled to welcome聽Sarah Adomako-Ansah聽from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights to campus for a special workshop.
As global crises and equity issues increasingly shape classroom conversations, many educators feel overwhelmed about how to respond. This session explores how educators can lead courageous dialogue and build brave classroom cultures that help students engage in complex conversations while still taking action against injustice.
Sarah is the co-founder of the Black Teacher鈥檚 Association (BTA) of Alberta and was Edmonton Catholic School鈥檚 first Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism Consultant in 2023. Sarah was the Educator in Residence at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, where she continues her equity聽work in education and outreach. She is the recipient of both the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal and the Randy Palivoda Award for her efforts in contributing to human rights and diversity in education and leadership. With Brent Saccucci (Faculty of Education) and Laurie McIntosh (2026 SWATCA Keynote Speaker), Sarah will be delivering the workshop series 鈥淧luralism, Belonging, & Inclusion in Elementary Education鈥� with Outside Pin Consulting in May 2026!
