Emergency Care and After Hours Support

Emergency Care and After Hours Support

On-Campus Emergency Assistance (24/7)

Emergency first aid support is always available on campus. Security Representatives are trained to respond to medical emergencies and can assist until emergency services arrive.

For serious or life-threatening emergencies:
  • Call 9-1-1 immediately.
  • Stay calm and remain with the injured or ill person.
  • Make sure the area is safe. Do not move the person unless they are at risk of further harm.
  • Provide the dispatcher with your name, phone number, and exact location.
  • After calling 9-1-1, contact Security Services at 403-329-2345 (or 2345 from an in-house phone). Security will help guide emergency responders to your location.
For non-emergent injury or illness on campus:
  • Call a Security Representative at 403-329-2345 (or 2345 from an in-house phone).
  • Stay on the line, describe the situation, and a representative will come to you.
  • All injuries that occur on campus require a Campus Accident/Injury Report to be completed within 24 hours.

Off-Campus Emergencies

If you are off campus and experiencing a serious or life-threatening emergency:

  • Call 9-1-1, or
  • Go directly to the Emergency Department at Chinook Regional Hospital:
    • Chinook Regional Hospital – Emergency Department
      960 19 St S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5
This is the only 24/7 emergency department in Lethbridge.

Non-Emergent Health Concerns (Off Campus)

The Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Indigenous peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ community.
