Honorary Degrees Committee
The members of the Senate Honorary Degrees Committee are governed by the following powers and duties:
- To ensure sufficient procedures for encouraging submissions (academic and non-academic) of nominations for honorary degrees, including procedures which enable appropriate, and diverse candidates to be nominated.
- To ensure sufficient procedures for evaluating and recommending to Senate nominees for the awarding or revoking of Honorary Degrees, allowing for these to be considered on an expedited basis if sufficient circumstances exist and being mindful of equity, diversity, inclusion and Indigenization.
- To ensure appropriate and regular evaluation of nominations, and the procedures and processes surrounding Honorary Degrees.
- Review Committee activity for the Executive Committee and submit to Senate recommendations.
