Dr. Keith Robin (1987-1991)

Keith Robin was born in Lethbridge and attended high school in Calgary before attending the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Alberta. He received his Bachelor of Education there in 1952. The first of his many teaching posts in southern Alberta was at Barrhill School in Picture Butte. He also served as principal of Turin School and taught at Hamilton Junior High School in Lethbridge. After receiving his Master's degree from the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Colorado in 1966, he became Director of Continuing Education at Lethbridge Community College. His career with LCC spanned 20 years, during which time he not only filled administrative roles as Dean, Vice-President and Foundation Executive Director, but actively served on local and provincial professional associations and earned his Doctor of Education. Through his teaching and administrative positions, he has been an energetic contributor to all levels of education. He was a friend of the 免费福利资源在线看片 in its earliest days, and remained so throughout its growth, the only UofL Senator to serve four three-year terms followed by election to the position of chancellor. being of this institution. He devoted hours of his time to promote the UofL in southern Alberta and beyond, and continues to actively support the institution as Chancellor Emeritus. In addition to his work for the advancement of education, Keith Robin has committed much of his life to service and cultural aspects within Lethbridge. His involvement has encouraged civic spirit in many, and has been an outstanding example of the difference an individual can make. He is perhaps best known for his 25 years with the Kiwanis Club, including terms as District Trainer, Lethbridge President, Division Lieutenant governors and Governor of the Western Canada District, as well as his 16 years with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, an organization for which he now serves as a member of the national Board of Directors. Other current positions to which he dedicates his time include Director of the Science Alberta Foundation, Chair of the Committee on Nursing Education for the Universities Coordinating Council, member of the Lethbridge Foundation Advisory Committee and Director of the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada. Numerous other civic committees and councils have benefitted from his caring, and his presence as a volunteer at the Lethbridge Music Festival has become an institution in itself. |
