A dedicated servant of Alberta, James Horsman was a member of the Alberta Legislative Assembly for five consecutive terms. Also significant were James Horsman's efforst at the national level as an MLA. For ten years, he represented Alberat in discussions with the other provinces regarding constitutional matters. At the international level, James Horsman was the chief negotiator for Alberta in negotiations with the United States, Mexico, and other coutnries for the Free Trade Agreement, North American Free Trade Agreement, and the Uruguay round of the General Agreement on Trade and Tafiffs. been Co-Founder of the Transporation Working Group of the Pacific Northwest Economic Region, Director of the Can/Am Border Trade Alliance, member of the Pacific Council on International Policy, member of the Advisory Board for the Association for Canadian Studies in the United States, and Canadian Director of the STate Legislative Leaders Foundation.
