Once you accept your offer, you will be assigned a mentor. Mentors are current ULethbridge students who have been in your shoes. They have had a great experience in Lethbridge and want to make sure you do too! They are here to guide, support and assist as you prepare to begin your studies. Not only will they assist you through email, but they will also be leaders and staff at the major events you attend, like Ahead of the Herd and New Student Orientation.

Queen

Queen

Hey everyone!

My name is Queen, and I am a second-year student in Sociology and Education at the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge. As someone who had no idea what they wanted to do upon arrival in Lethbridge, I have grown to love my program. When I graduate, I hope to teach grade 11 social studies and maybe go into law :) but have not thought that one through yet.

When I first applied to the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge, I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do, but I was definitely grateful to find out that our education program is pretty awesome! I'm also not too far away from home. In my free time, I have a noticeable social media presence, but I will use doing my makeup or crocheting as a form of art away from the screen. Along with that, I enjoy doing my nails, which is something I learned to do over the summer.

As a student mentor, I hope to help you in ways that I can at the university, even as little as a chat. I'm super excited to meet you, so don't hesitate if you need anything. Welcome to U of L, and an awesome start to an amazing journey ahead. :)

Miriam

Miriam

Hello! My name is Miriam. I am a fifth-year psychology and political science major. I am the previous president of the Black Students’ Association on campus for the last two years.

When I am not on campus working, learning or doing club events I love to crochet, listen to music, and watch movies. My current favourite song and movie is Only When I’m Dreaming by Minnie Ripperton and Sinners. I’m from the small town of Brooks Alberta - Go Bandits! I enjoy trying different lippies, my favourite at the moment is Patrick Ta’s lip balm in the flavour milk tea (it’s too yummy).

My job as your Student Mentor is to help get you acquainted with the university as well as help you navigate your way through your first year and hopefully help you find your home away from home. For some of you this is the beginning and for some it’s a continuation but to all of you I just want to say I’m proud of you for getting here. Don’t hesitate to reach out and don’t be a stranger!

Aidren

Aidren

What's up, everyone! I am Aidren, and I am thrilled to be your student mentor here to help! I am a 3rd-year student here at the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬, studying Kinesiology as a Bachelor of Science. In the future, I aim to be a paramedic (a bit of a different field, but don't judge).

When I started at the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬, I was in the combined degree program for kinesiology/physical education. But sometime in my second year, I had a sudden realization, leading gym games in high school didn't lead a life with enough adrenaline! So, I decided to focus on the science side of kinesiology, allowing me to move into medicine in the future if I please. With this, I understand the process of changing degrees and what it entails.

In my spare time, you can find me in the gym or library studying or working out. Not sure where I study or work out, there seems to be no difference anymore! Besides that, I may be at the Zoo with friends or just aimlessly wandering the halls pretending to look busy!

I truly look forward to being a mentor here, and whether you are coming from high school or the bliss of a gap year, I will be here to answer any questions, and I hope my experiences can help us both find the answers!

Letty

Letty

Hello!

My name is Letty. I'm an international student from Ghana in my third year of studying Global Business.  I enjoy learning about the globalized world and the business environment we live in now! The past three years at the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge have been amazing; I have been able to find a community of like-minded individuals while gaining very valuable knowledge and skills to prepare me for life after graduating. Honestly, the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge does so well in providing students with resources and supportive services that have helped to satisfy my curiosity and answer all my questions.

I like to spend my free time listening to music, beading bags, going on walks, watching shows and reading African literature. I especially love reading and find it very therapeutic!

As your student mentor, I am here to help with all the questions and concerns you may have. I know how overwhelming being a first-year student can be, and I am so glad to be able to offer any assistance I can, and to direct you to the best resources on campus, where you will be able to receive more information.

Eiman

Eiman

Hey! My name is Eiman, and I'm a first-year student completing a dual major in English and Education. I hope to become a high-school teacher! Born in Toronto, raised in Calgary, I'm now in Lethbridge, incredibly excited to work alongside you during your journey at ULethbridge!

I love reading, writing, cooking, and training in martial arts. Since I was thirteen, I've partaken in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, BJJ, and a little bit of Judo too! I've had the absolute privilege of competing, as well as teaching. You may have seen me around campus as I am on the board representing EUS, as well as Islamic Relief. I always love meeting new people and adding faces to names, so I'd love for you to come say hi!

I understand the first-year experience, and all the exciting and nervous feelings that come with it, all you need is a bit of support and encouragement, and that's exactly what I'm here for. Whether it's a bit of direction, some advice, or just company, I look forward to helping and working with you!

Hannah

Hannah

Hello everyone! My name is Hannah and I am one of your Student Mentors! I am a second-year Political Science and Social Studies Education major. I am also a proud small-town girl from Brooks, Alberta! Coming from such a small town, a city like Lethbridge is just right. With such an amazing education program and a stunning scenery, I know ULethbridge would be perfect for me.

In my personal time when I am not busy with schoolwork, I love to spend quality time with my friends and family. Additionally, I love a pit stop to smell perfumes and check out cute handbags (#1 window shopper)!

Having just completed my first-year, I intend to conduct myself as a Student Mentor who is seeking to help you make the most out of your first-year experience, just as my mentor did for me. I am committed to helping you all to the best of my ability, ensuring that we can tackle any challenges that may come your way as you navigate post-secondary.
