Student Parking

Most students with motor vehicles prefer to purchase a parking permit on a semester or 8 month basis. If you plan to attend classes through the summer, as well as the fall and spring semesters, you may want to consider an annual permit.

Students have the option of purchasing their permit at the Cash Office, or reserving a permit on-line. The Cash Office accepts cash or debit card only. Students using the on-line service may apply the charge for their permit to their student account or to a credit card.

 

 

 

Bicycle and E-Scooter Parking

The 免费福利资源在线看片 encourages the use of bicycles as an economical and environmentally sound means of transportation. Bike racks are provided throughout campus. Bikes may not be locked to stairwells, trees, lamp posts, or other structures aside from the designated racks. Bikes are not permitted in buildings, tunnels or on the Athletic Track. The owner is solely responsible for his or her bicycle. Security may move or impound any bicycle that is not proper stored. Abandoned bicycles are tagged at the end of each semester and if not removed within three days, they will be removed from the bicycle rack.

 

E-scooters are on campus

The university has partnered with the City of Lethbridge and Bird Canada, making Bird-brand scooters available to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

E-Scooters reduce automobile use and encourage healthy lifestyles by providing a new transportation option on campus.

Here are a few key points to keep in mind before you get started:

  1. Download the to find the closest available scooter. You can also reserve one up to 30 minutes in advance.
  2. A centralized no-riding zone has been established on campus; the motor in your scooter will automatically stop once you enter the zone.
  3. Bird scooters have a speed limit of 20 km/h, but once on campus, they slow down to a maximum of 10 km/h.
  4. Park with care. After your ride, use the kickstand and park within the two designated 鈥淏ird Nest鈥 on campus, stenciled area in the Bus loop and within the Lot E bike rack (see map above). If not parked properly, the user will be charged.
  5. Helmets are encouraged.
  6. E-scooters will cost $1.15 to unlock and 35 cents per minute to ride.
  7. Birds are not cleaned or disinfected between customers. We recommend each rider use a pre-moistened disinfectant wipe before their ride. We strongly recommend each rider wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before and after using the equipment. Please avoid touching your face during the ride!

Motorcycle Parking

Campus Mobility Services offer two permit options for Motorcycles on campus:

Option 1: Motorcycle users requiring to park only within the Motorcycle designated areas are required to purchase a campus Motorcycle Parking Permit. Designated areas are provided in Lots C, O, N and P only.

Option 2: Motorcycle users who hold a valid 免费福利资源在线看片 Parking Permit, may park their motorcycle within their designated permit area, and within the Motorcycle designated areas on campus. The motorcycle license plate must be registered with Campus Mobility Services. Motorcycles not registered with Campus Mobility Services will be ticketed and/or towed.

Motorcycles parked in Pay and Park areas are subject to the posted parking fees.

Motorized scooters are subject to the same regulations as motorcycles.

 

Residence Parking

Students living in residence will apply for a parking permit during thier Check-in through Housing Services. If a student missed the Check-in dates they may purchase a parking permit through Campus Mobility Services by emailing parking@uleth.ca.

 

 

Faculty and Staff Parking

Faculty and staff may purchase a general parking permit in any available permit parking lot on campus, except those areas reserved for resident students. Employees have the option of purchasing their permit through payroll deduction. Faculty and staff may apply to purchase a permit for the special parking areas.

An annual permit is the best value.

 

Visitor and Short Term Parking

Visitor and short term parking is provided in various Pay and Park lots on campus.

When parking in a short term parking, please ensure that you park in a designated parking stall first before completing your purchase using the Pay and Park Dispenser or the HonkMobile app.

  • Lot D and H - 1 hour minimum-1 hour maximum
  • Lot C - 1 hour Minimum - 4 hour maximum
  • Lot G / E and Lot S- 1 hour minimum-2 hour maximum
  • Lot N - 1 hour minimum-8 hour maximum

With the exception of Lot G all parking stalls for pay and park zones are lined in blue, with blue posted signage.

HonkMobile:

With the HonkMobile app, students, staff and visitors can seamlessly pay for parking from a smartphone, tablet or computer.

HOW IT WORKS:

HonkMobile registers your parking transactions with your license plate number, so you don't need to display a parking receipt in your vehicle. The app sends your parking information to our parking enforcement officers.

Purchasing parking through HonkMobile does not guarantee you a parking space. We recommend you wait until you have found a space to purchase parking and purchase before leaving your vehicle.

HonkMobile lets you choose your method of payment. The app accepts any major credit card, PayPal, VISA debit, and Masterpass digital wallet. Please note, HonkMobile charges a $0.35 user fee.

Pay and Park Dispenser:

免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge uses pay-by-plate parking technology for hourly parking. Parking dispensers are located in all Pay and Park areas on campus, and one is located in the Centre for Sports and Wellness adjacent to the rock climbing wall.

How Does the Pay and Park Dispenser Work?

  • Park your vehicle in a U of L Pay and Park lot.
  • Visit the nearest Parking Dispenser.
  • Follow the prompts: enter your license plate number, select the amount of time you'd like to park, and pay with your credit card, or coins (no change is provided) .
  • You're on your way!

You don't need to display a daily parking receipt in your vehicle. This integrated parking system sends your license plate number and parking information to our parking enforcement officers.

 

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking requires the display of a valid 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge permit and a Provincial Accessible placard together. This also includes Accessible placards used in combination with permits from Sport and Rec, or issued digital dash permits. Electric Charging Stations

免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge installed two electric vehicle charging stations in Lot 鈥淪鈥 close to the Science Commons building. For those who wish to access the stations there are now 4 parking stalls that have been converted to accommodate this change. These parking stalls are to facilitate the use of the charging stations only. Only electric vehicles may access them, and only when charging. Signs have been installed to highlight these new regulations.

Non-electric vehicles attempting to access these parking stalls will be ticketed.
