The Transcript:

My life at the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬.  I wasn’t really involved in that many clubs and associations while I was a university student because I was a single mom, and I was older than a lot of students.  So, I think I was 28 when I graduated. Yes.  So, not so many clubs and associations.  However, after I left the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ or after I graduated, I joined the Alumni Association and I was active with the Alumni Association for quite a number of years.  I sat on the Executive for a number of years.  I sat with the general board of the Alumni Association.  I missed my opportunity to get back on it this year.  I’m pretty interested in getting back on it again next year.

And so one of the things that’s really important to me is this Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ at Lethbridge.  I’ve always felt that and I’ve loved giving back.  I was ... when they phoned me and told me that I had been chosen as one of the members of the Honour Society, I said, ‘Why the heck did you not tell me to sit down before I got' ... I almost fell on the floor!  ‘Are you sure you’ve got the right person and the right number?’  ‘Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.’  Oh my god!  So anyway, I loved working with the Alumni Association.  I worked in the days of Doug MacArthur being the chair and we had a wonderful time.  It was so much fun.  Ken McInnis was on it.  Rebecca Remmington.  A number of people who were my contemporaries at Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ way back in the day.

And then even more or as important to me is the fact that I had two children, both of whom got degrees from the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ of Lethbridge.  One of my children has got two degrees from the U of L.  Mackenzie, she’s 30.  She just successfully defended her second Masters in Psychology.  She is training to be a psychologist.  She got her first Masters in Science at McMaster but she got her B.A.Sc. in Psych and English at the U of L.  And Kate, my youngest, who’s 26 is a registered nurse and so she finished her ... she did two years at the College and then finished her last two years at the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬.  I am so proud of that.  That my kids followed.  Oh, and the current husband is also a graduate from the Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬.  So we’re all just a big ol’ Ãâ·Ñ¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ÔÚÏß¿´Æ¬ family.  Well now I’ve got about ten Alumni pins in my drawer just to show you where my heart really is.
