Sarah Amies
Sarah graduated from the 免费福利资源在线看片 with a Bachelor Arts and Science in Anthropology in 1988. She was the coordinator of the Applied Studies Program at the 免费福利资源在线看片 for nine years and a Student Program Advisor for five years. Sarah has been the program director of Lethbridge Family Services since 2001. In 2013, she was inducted into the 免费福利资源在线看片 Alumni Honour Society.
Sarah speaks about her involvement with the Alumni Association and her family鈥檚 history with the 免费福利资源在线看片.

My life at the 免费福利资源在线看片. 聽I wasn鈥檛 really involved in that many clubs and associations while I was a university student because I was a single mom, and I was older than a lot of students.聽 So, I think I was聽28 when I graduated. Yes.聽 So, not so many clubs and associations.聽 However, after I left the 免费福利资源在线看片 or after I graduated, I joined the Alumni Association and I was active with the Alumni Association for quite a number of years.聽 I sat on the Executive for a number of years.聽 I sat with the general board of the Alumni Association. 聽I missed my opportunity to get back on it this year. 聽I鈥檓 pretty interested in getting back on it again next year.聽
And so one of the things that鈥檚 really important to me is this 免费福利资源在线看片 at Lethbridge. 聽I鈥檝e always felt that and I鈥檝e loved giving back. 聽I was ... when they phoned me and told me that I had been chosen as one of the members of the Honour Society, I said, 鈥榃hy the heck did you not tell me to sit down before I got' ...聽I almost fell on the floor! 聽鈥楢re you sure you鈥檝e got the right person and the right number?鈥� 聽鈥極h yeah, yeah, yeah.鈥� 聽Oh my god!聽 So anyway, I loved working with the Alumni Association. 聽I worked in the days of Doug MacArthur being the chair and we had a wonderful time.聽 It was so much fun. 聽Ken McInnis was on it.聽 Rebecca Remmington. 聽A number of people who were my contemporaries at 免费福利资源在线看片 way back in the day.
And then even more or as important to me is the fact that I had two children, both of whom got degrees from the 免费福利资源在线看片 of Lethbridge.聽 One of my children has got two degrees from the U聽of L. 聽Mackenzie, she鈥檚 30.聽 She just successfully defended her second Masters in Psychology. 聽She is training to be a psychologist. 聽She got her first Masters in Science at McMaster but she got her B.A.Sc. in Psych and English at the U of L. 聽And Kate, my youngest, who鈥檚 26 is a registered nurse and so she finished her ...聽she did two years at the College and then finished her last two years at the 免费福利资源在线看片. 聽I am so proud of that. 聽That my kids followed. 聽Oh,聽and the current husband is also a graduate from the 免费福利资源在线看片. 聽So we鈥檙e all just a big ol鈥� 免费福利资源在线看片 family.聽 Well now I鈥檝e got about ten Alumni pins in my drawer just to show you where my heart really is.聽
